Privacy Policy

This page explains, plainly, what information The Global Nepali collects and what happens to it. This is a small, independently-run community project — there is no ad network, no data broker relationship, and nothing here is sold to anyone.

What we collect

Newsletter signup: just your email address, if you choose to give it, via the signup bar shown on most pages.

Event and business submissions: if you submit an event or a business listing, we collect what the form asks for — your name, email, and details about the event or business (which may include a photo, address, and phone number for businesses). Submitted event/business details are reviewed before anything is published publicly; your name and email are used only to reach you about your specific submission and are not shown publicly unless the listing itself includes them.

Basic technical data: like most websites, our server automatically logs standard technical information (such as IP address and browser type) for security and troubleshooting. If you use the "use my location" feature on Events or Businesses, that location is sent to your browser's location service and to our server only to search nearby results — it is not stored.

What we don't do

We don't sell or rent your information to anyone. We don't run third-party advertising or tracking pixels. We don't share your submission details with anyone beyond what's needed to publish the listing you asked us to publish.

Third-party services we use

Some content on this site is loaded from outside services, each with their own privacy practices: YouTube (for videos), Spotify and Apple Podcasts (for the podcast), Ticketmaster and Google Events (for event listings), and OpenStreetMap (for turning a searched city into a map location). Visiting pages that embed this content may be subject to those services' own privacy policies.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe from emails at any time (once we begin sending any — no campaigns have gone out yet). You can ask us to remove a business or event listing, or delete your submission information, by emailing us.
